The site is distant from downtown Seoul, which is planned to be a residential complex that will have similar sizes and conditions of houses due to the housing development plan. The land fronts on a street and surrounded by lots so that can be felt as a relatively dense housing complex. Because four sides of the land is exposed to pedestrians and residents, we will build a house in which the privacy of the residents can be respected.

A floating outer shell smoothly envelopes ‘ㄷ’ plan configuration. The simple elevation which is projecting interior space is facing the street. The courtyard toward south is visually connected to indoor public space and corridors that creating a flow of the internal and external space. The residents are able to enjoy at soft bounded courtyard from inside to outside which is rather being tied to complex intentions.

서울 중심 도심지에서 거리가 있는 이 곳은 택지개발로 계획된 주거단지로 비슷한 규모와 조건의 주택들이 들어설 예정이다. 전면도로를 중심으로 사방이 구획된 필지로 둘러싸여 있어 거주하는 사람에게는 상대적으로 고밀도의 주거단지로 체감 될 수 있다. 대지의 모든 면에 외부인의 시선이 닿게 되어 거주자의 프라이버시가 존중될 수 있는 내밀한 휴식의 공간을 만들기로 한다.

 'ㄷ'자의 평면 구성에 부드러운 외피로 떠 있는 담장, 내부공간이 투영된 간결한 입면의 표정이 가로를 향한다. 남측 하늘을 향해 열려 있는 중정은 실내 공용 공간과 복도에서 시각적으로 연결되어 내외부 공간에 흐름이 생긴다. 단단한 외부와 달리 중정이 실내의 공간에 관입되어 복잡한 의도에 얽매이기 보다는 부드러운 외부를 마음껏 즐길 수 있도록 계획하였다.
